Philips Arena President Bob Williams was on hand to honor Widespread Panic with a banner in their name. The white banner was raised shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve in recognition of the band's 15th consecutive sold-out concert at the venue dating back to 1999.
Widespread Panic have perfomed two New Year shows at the Philips Arena in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2006. Three shows were performed in 2001 and no shows were performed there in 2004 while the band were on their 15-month hiatus.
